Seew Mordechai, hebräischer Schriftsteller, * Nowgorod-Wolynskij 20. 9. 1874, ✝ ebenda 2. 3. 1899; Anhänger von Achad Haam, schilderte in seinen zum Teil autobiographischen Novellen und in Essays das Versagen der auf Verwestlichung gerichteten Aufklärungsbewegung der osteuropäischen Juden und die Notwendigkeit einer jüdischen Renaissance. Als bekannteste Novelle gilt »Wohin?« (hebräisch; englisch 1959 unter dem Titel »Whither?«).
